Despite the obvious appeal of a ruffled cocktail dress, a blazer in a fluorescent shade or a patterned maxi that drapes the floor just the way you like, staples are staples and we wouldn't be able to get through our daily tasks without them. There's those that are obvious to any female wardrobe: a pair of perfectly worn in jeans, a little black dress that hugs in all the right places, and a black pump that's just the right height for you. I've compiled a brief list of five personal staples that always seem to draw me back in. The first of which is camel brown leather. Stick the same brown and black bag in front of me and chances are, I'll pick the brown one. A personal favorite is the Mulberry bag above.
Though all browns are tempting, I usually crave this camel shade. I love it in both of these leather jackets and the riding boot.
I live in white oxfords during all months of the year. They're flattering, conservative and go with just about anything as the models above demonstrate. Not to mention very versatile with options of rolling them up, tying the ends, tucking in or letting it loose.
Whenever the final chills are beginning to wear off, the first thing I do is whip out my trusty Bernardo sandals. They can survive many years of wear and tear and are usually neutral enough to slip on with any outfit. Only trouble comes when the MHS stairwells become quite a slippery slope. Good thing I won't encounter that problem anymore!
Like the brown vs. black debate, I'll pick gold accessories any day over silver.
And last but not least, a good set of pearl stud earrings. A few size variations is always handy for when I'm in the mood for something dainty or something a little more loud. I'll be sure to include all of these items in the moving boxes in the next two weeks.
