My roommates for next year and I celebrated getting the first room we pref'd in style this past weekend. Peyton invited us to her family's new condo in Austin, which nearly made us question our current living situation and consider the possibility of moving into this lovely loft. The beautiful view overlooking the Austin City lights is enough to make you fall in love. An evening with my favorite Kappa sisters was just what I needed right before studying for finals hit me like a ton of bricks (or books rather!)
We even got the royal treatment with our transportation. We made quick friends with our driver, Kramer, who provided quite a few laughs while getting there.
Peyton's parent's favorite eatery in Ausin is a French spot called Chez Nous. One of the restaurant's chefs came and prepared hors d'oeuvres for us. Of course, a tray with various cheese ranging in nuttiness, creaminess, and age is a must. It was also complimented with a glass of mixed berries and salted chocolates.
These mini bruschetta were topped with an olive tapenade, tomatoes and herbs then drizzled with extra-virgin olive oil. I have no doubt this would have been a hit with my parents.
These custard shells were just as much a feast for the belly as they were for the eye.
And these prosciutto wrapped figs excited every taste bud as they featured savory, salty, and sweet flavors. I somehow managed to not photograph what was probably my favorite dish of the evening--warm pesto-stuffed mushrooms.
Here's Olivia and Kate, who are roommates this year at Hardin House.
The whole crew--dressed to impress
Julie and Jenna, requesting we hold the paparazzi
An entire group shot sans Liz who was at a formal that night
I wasn't kidding about that sky line.
I love you, Jen!
After an improptu dance-a-thon, we refueled with cupcakes for Peyton's birthday, which is today! Happy 19th, P!
I could not be more thrilled for my living situation next year. I plan on making a visit to Dallas (possibly over New Years) where most of the girls are from over break. And hopefully, they'll pay me a visit to H-Town if time permits. But, for now, it's time for a study break and a brain detox as I join my current (and wonderful too, if I don't say it enough) roomies for a dinner date.
