Fun Fiji Fact

My alarm went off just minutes after the paper man threw the Chronicle onto our front porch, and I was on my way to the airport at a quarter 'til 6am this past Sunday morning. I couldn't help but laugh when my bag barely made the 50 pound limit, weighing out at 49 pounds. I was pleased to find a few of my Houstonian friends aboard the plane with me on my early flight. The wind chill was apparent immediately as I stepped out of the plane and onto the jetway. I got to spend some more quality time in the Denver International Airport than I had hoped as us early birds waited on the later flights to arrive before the charter bus carted our college crew to our final destination--Breckenridge.

We got all the boring but necessary items out of the way at first like settling in at the condos, making somewhat of an attempt to unpack, stocking the fridge, and renting our ski gear.

And though we were all exhausted, nothing (not even the sub-freezing temps) could keep us from celebrating the first night of Skiji.

I saw a couple of the Kappas in the pledge class above me, Laura and Sarah, that night.

The free shuttles stop making the rounds at 11, so we were forced to trek it home in the cold. Upon finally arriving in the warm lobby, we decided to all defrost together before heading to our separate condos. After that, it was just sweet dreams and snuggling before our first day on the slopes.
