Best I Ever Saw

The moment I heard that Drake would be making a stop in Austin on his Club Paradise tour, I was bound and determined to go. However, when the farthest seats in the house were going for the upper 300's, I was forced to think again.

Luckily, having an Austinite as a roommate once again saved the day. Merl's dad had access to a box for the event that night, so we called dibs and gathered 14 of our closest friends for the concert.

He was just as good of an entertainer as he is an artist. He even displayed his sense of humor, telling crowd members that were sitting down that they "looked like they were getting their license renewed." He also showed some serious Texas/Austin love, which really got the full-house crowd going.

We're all convinced we got a shout out when he said hi to "the girls in that box goin' crazy."

It was nice to be in the comfort of our own suite to dance and of course have a little photo shoot. So, thank you Mr. Taylor!

You could say he has a pretty solid fan base. Julianne, who went to the Taylor Swift concert at the same venue last semester, claims that it was definitely more packed for Drake than T. Swift. In a day and age where Taylor's country ballads are constantly topping the charts, that's saying something.

You can see a little nugget Drizzy in the back with us in this pic. Mayms is already sportin' her t-shirt with pride. He finished the night with his two most recent hits, "The Motto" and "Headlines", and it was definitely the highlight of the night. It's crazy to think that the kid in the wheel chair from Degrassi, which I can vividly remember watching with Makenna back in the 8th grade, has turned into the rapping sensation of our generation. I've been to my fair share of concerts, from Nelo to Slim, T Swift to Selena Gomez, John Mayer to Coldplay, Jonas Brothers to Jojo and I can say with zero hesitations that this is one of the "best I ever saw."
