Social media, in its many forms, truly has taken over my generation. Facebook is a force to be reckoned with with its now 800 million users and the fact that it's checked almost more frequently than many of our gmail accounts; Twitter makes us feel connected with our friends and Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, Lord Voldemort or whoever our celebrity crush may be; and now, Instagram provides a cyber-medium for all of us who the feel the need to feed that little bit of "artsiness" within us.

Town Lake is a tempting Instagram upload for many Austinites, with its gently rippled waters, clear views of downtown, and natural landscape surroundings.

A food binge feels a tad more justified when you can document the moment. (More on the 2A Ben & Jerry's ice cream challenge to come soon.)

I couldn't resist snapshotting the colorful chandelier dangling from the exposed ceiling at Blue Elephant, a boutique on North Lamar, as Julianne and I de-stressed with an impromptu shopping trip in the middle of the school week.

Merl has gotten me hooked on Snap Kitchen as a quick alternative meal option to Hardin's beef tips, shrimp scampi, or thick pork chops. (Didn't make up those names. Sadly, that's verbatim from the menu. It's a hard life we lead as Hardin House girls.) It's also a much healthier option with its fresh ingredients and appropriate portion servings. It's similar to My Fit Foods, just with less of a weight-loss focus.

top left: My mom and I went on a major shorts search at The Domain while she was in town. I came home with several pairs of J. Crew chinos (my favorites as you already know), adding to my collection some neutral shades and a fluorescent pink, similar to my jeans pictured in the right photo. My closet is beginning to indicate that's my new favorite color.
middle left: With holidays always come good eats and full tummies, and this Easter was no exception. I piled my plate high and wide with an assortment of breakfast and lunch foods at The Grove in downtown Houston.
bottom left: There's nothing like a little bit of paper inspiration stacked high for when pinning becomes tiresome and you need to revert to the old fashioned ways of ripping out a page from a magazine.
right: May, who will be coming here next year, and I at Thomas's lake house this past weekend for an end of the year get together.

It comes in handy for documenting unconventional moments like this, where we all had neon-rimmed sunglasses on at one in the morning downtown, in just a simple click of an iPhone.

It's also a handy way to keep a running record of some of my favorite meals, like this Oaklawn Roll at Sushi Zushi. My sense of taste was equally as satisfied as my sense of sight when this plate was delivered to me.

As helpful as item descriptions can be on a menu, nothing compares to a visual display. When I went to  Bess Bistro (Sandra Bullock's restaurant) with my mom and sister awhile back, I was able to search the geotag and see what other people had Instragramed at Bess. Bess's Instragram account even liked my photo!

I wished everyone a happy heart day via Instagram on Valentine's Day this year by sharing the five word message tucked in the wrapper of the Dove Chocolate Jenny gave all of her friends and neighbors.

Here's what I like to call a solid final's study snack at Mozart's Coffee Shop.

As much as I'd like to think I use it purely for photographing food, intricate architecture, and beautiful landscapes, my friends and I are the subject of the pictures just about every other time.

Another indulgence I both love and hate Merl for introducing me to is Food Food!'s galaxy bar. It's basically a homemade Twix (one of my favorite candy bars), and will instantly send you on both a sugar and happy high.

Not only do Molly and I share a name, but we'll likely be sharing a room this summer! She'll be living with me during my stay at the rush house for part of this summer as well as my big sis Kat. I can hardly wait!

I was vehemently opposed to creating an Instagram account until one night on ski trip when Madison convinced me that it would be right up my blogger alley. She was right. Since then, I've slowly waned off of the Twitter bandwagon and jumped full throttle onto the Insta craze. Whether its documenting a Thursday night, an extra special meal, or anything else particularly inspiring, I have found it to be rather amusing, fun, and a great procrastination tool sitting right in the palm of my hand.
