Showers were held indoors and outdoors yesterday. But, unlike the heavy showers outside, Carolyn's baby shower had everyone all smiles.
My oldest sister, Amy, kindly offered her cozy home to host the get-together, with delightful decor throughout.
The table setting was as much a feast for the eyes...
as it was for the tummies.
On the menu was yellow tomato caprese kabobs (as seen above), waldorf and fruit salad, grilled ham + cheese sandwiches, bite-sized quiches and mini bundt cakes, which by the way, are totally booting out cupcakes for the newest food fad. And many thanks to Erin (who could not make it with her two-week-old!) for her lovely calligraphed labels.
Carolyn got to see her besties from high school, college, and work, several of which she hadn't seen since she got hitched in '09.
Even Mimi's besties attended the soirée.
Of course, family was present too.
My mom's sister Mary, who happens to be Carolyn's godmother, and her daughter (Mary also) drove in all the way from Dallas to see her.
I think the last photo I have with Mary was when we hadn't even reached junior high. I was certainly glad to have someone in my age range there!
And all of these guests showered her with gifts.
Party hosts Amy and Lindsay documented all her new loot. Alexander is prepped for his arrival now with everything from his baby book to bath toys to a Maclaren stroller.
I gave her this wall print, which pinpoints where the baby's roots lie. Alex's will likely include Puerto Rico, Graz, Houston and now, Pittsburgh.
As the night came to a close, the ladies kept chatting...
and being silly.
And most important of all, I think it's safe to say Carolyn had a lovely time with all of her many, many loved ones. Congrats, Coco!
