I'm not one of those girls who yearns for summer year round. I have more of a penchant for a steaming cup of coffee warming my hands than a glass of lemonade cooling me down; but, earlier last week the skies were grey, the wind chill was very apparent, and well, quite frankly, I was annoyed.

Thankfully, as the weekend arrived, the skies cleared and the sunshine appeared, giving me hope that spring weather is here for an extended stay. I, for one, will welcome it with open arms. I so look forward to ridding my morning routine of checking the temperature on my iPhone, calculating how my outfit will adhere to the 40 degree morning temperatures that will reach the 80s by mid-afternoon. LIFE'S HARD, ya know?

There will always be springtime style standbys--neutral sandals (my new, favorite pair), a LWD and jean cutoffs. Still, there are always hot new items I can't resist. For now, I've got my eye on shorter, flowy skirts, a cotton swing dress and a flat clutch.

My mom helped me equip my closet for spring slash summer this weekend; we perused the stores along 2nd street downtown and did a little more unintended browsing at our Kappa happy hour hosted at Adelante. Claustrophobic may it be, there's really no better place to mother daughter bond than a shared dressing room.

There's something awfully liberating about the first time you can wear a sleeveless top without carting around a sweater. So, enjoy your week as we near tank top and tan-line time!
